History
The links between King's Lynn and
Trannies stretch back to the Middle Ages. The Domesday book lists the
following entry:
LYNNE. Muddye
Field. 4 ducks. 1 Pigge.
1 Lady with Bigge Handes. |
Historians now suspect that this lady was not actually a lady at all,
but this is yet to be proven conclusively.
By the the eighteenth century
King's Lynn had become a sizeable market town with a sizeable port and
large transgendered community. A wealthy Tranny seaman visiting the
market could buy frocks from as far afield as Diss and
Spalding. A brief attempt by
the Tourism Agency to attract the Pink Pound resulted in the town
being re-christened Queen's Lynn in 1967. This backfired badly,
offending both the people of Lynn and the very community it was trying
to attract. King's Lynn refocused its attentions on T-girls and has
never looked back. |
